Puppy Purchase process

Please fill out our puppy application and text Jenna at 503-951-1700 to schedule a time to chat over the phone so we can learn more about what you are looking for and see if our puppies are a good fit. Typically we do not allow visitors until "puppy pick weekend" when they are at least 6 weeks old. Newborn puppies' immune systems are still developing and we do not want to expose them to additional risks like Parvo. Also mama dogs can occasionally be protective of their puppies especially the first couple of weeks and we do not want add extra stress. 

Once you have been approved you will be given instructions on putting down a $500 reservation fee/deposit to be put on the waitlist. Deposits can be made by Zelle, Venmo or mailed check, made out to "PNW Havanese". That fee is non-refundable but can be moved 1 time to a future litter. We just ask that you let us know as soon as possible so we can give the puppy we are holding for you the best chance to get placed in a new home right away.

Once we receive the reservation fee, you will be put on the Waitlist. Buyers pick puppies in the order that deposits are received at 6-7 weeks old once we start seeing personalities developing. The 1st (and sometimes 2nd) Pick of Litter is considered a Priority spot reserved for approved breeding/show homes for an additional $1,000. Occasionally we open that pick to a pet home, so please inquire if you have a particular need (therapy dog, ESA, agility prospect, etc.) and/or are willing to pay the additional priority amount. Companion/pet home picks start at Puppy Pick #3 and are sold on a spay/neuter contract. 

Puppies are ready to go home at 8 weeks old. Final payment is due at pick up in cash. No personal checks will be accepted unless they are delivered 7-10 business days before pickup and funds have cleared the bank. Puppies go home with an application for AKC limited registration, 1st Distemper-Parvo vaccine, vet exam report, microchip, and blanket or stuffy that smells like mom and siblings. Puppies can be picked up at our home, delivered to the Portland airport (PDX) and depending on availability we can meet partway. If are coming from out of state and are unable to fly in and pick up your puppy, we have a list of puppy nanny companies we recommend. A flight nanny will fly with your puppy in the cabin and hand deliver it to you at your nearest airport. Buyer is to contact the company directly and make all arrangements and payments.
